My ‘signature’ recipe: A vegan chocolate and protein-rich smoothie♥
It looks green.
It doesn’t taste green.
My all time favorite smoothie!
The only smoothie I make to be honest(I don’t make smoothies that often, but when I do it’s this one).
I’m a chocolate person and if you follow me on Instagram you’ll see on my story that I’ve been having chocolate oats+banana and peanut butter for the last couple of weeks. BEST combination ever, but not too long ago I had this smoothie every morning for a couple of weeks in a row. For breakfast I make it bigger by adding more of everything and turn it into a bowl(when I’m not taking it on the go for work), but as a snack I keep it decent.
What you’ll need:
-About 8gr of cacao powder(add more if you want a richer chocolate flavor)
-15gr of vegan chocolate protein powder (I use Vegan blend-chocolate smooth from Myprotein)
-1 juicy date (optional)
-1 ripe banana
-10gr(more or less) flaxseed (optional, but adding some healthy fat will help keep your blood sugar levels stable)
-10 Stevia caramel drops (optional, but adds a really nice taste)
-As much spinach as you like! (never used veggies in your smoothies? Start with a small amount and increase it everytime☻)
-1/3 cup of (light) coconut milk
-1 cup or less of water(add as less water as possible for a nice and thick smoothie)
And this is how I make it:
1. Add the coconut milk and some of the water
2. Add your spinach and press it down well (when using a lot of spinach)
3. Mix this up first to avoid pieces of spinach in your smoothie!
4. Add the rest of the ingredients and more water if needed
Done! The only thing left to do is poor it into your favorite bottle/mug/jar/bowl and drink it(or top it with some awesome toppings like shredded coconut, cacao nibs, granola/rawnola and maybe some fresh or frozen berries)
